CCF - RAF Summer Camp at Topcliffe, Yorkshire, July 1957
This photograph was sent in by Mike Higgins. Most of the identifications are from Ian Wallace.
David Bradburn writes: "It was the first time a lot of us had been able to fly. In two seater Chipmunks from what I recall , what a gas that was. the RAF pilot who took us up had been in operations in Malaya I seem to remember and he let us actually fly the planes all the time excepting for take off and landing ."
The master six from the left in the second row is Mr. Anderson. I remember that when we were strapped into the plane waiting for our first flight he threw his weight around and ordered one of the lads out as he was going to fly next. The pilot was however on our side, and when he took him up he was looping the loop and throwing the plane around. To say that Anderson was green afterwards is an understatement."
