contributed by Steve Grimes

On 22 July 1960 the CCF took part in a Centenary Year Parade at Buckingham Palace. At this parade the CCF Banner was dedicated and presented to the CCF, together with the Commemorative Book signed by Her Majesty the Queen in her capacity of Captain General of the CCF. This book was intended to record the present state and past history of all Contingents across the country. There would be only one copy in existence and, according to "Cadet", was initially housed at the new Cadet Training Centre at Frimley Park. Each page was hand printed by the applicable Contingent. The pages were in vellum with black script with the crest and capitals sometimes in colour. Our Contingent had its own entry, a copy of which was reproduced in "Cadet" 1960.
