From The Gaytonian, July 1951:
"Captain: Carroll. Vice-Captain:
Rose. Secretary: Henderson.
Cricket throughout the School has not, this year, experienced the same success
as it has had in past years. The First Eleven, sho started this season
with only four "Old Colours," have never really settled down.
This was partly due to the inexperience of the cricket talent in the school and
partly to the bad weather, which curtailed cricket practice at the beginning of
the season. Hammond, a new find, has batted very well and has received
support on occasions from Carroll and Norman, the latter showing particular
promise. Our bowling has this year failed miserably at times, but on other
occasions both Henderson and Edwards have bowled quite well."
