Here are a few more photos. I think they were taken at a weekend camp at Harefield in 1967.
I can see P Leblond and R Layzell and maybe a Crump in the stern of the canoes. Perhaps someone can remember the names of the smaller lads.

I hope these bring back memories for some people. Everyone on these photos would be over 50 now.

I recognise (Thomas) Keith Carne in the top left hand photograph – he’s  in the bottom right hand corner.

 I seem to recall that a canoe capsized in the canal and the boys had to go to hospital to have their stomachs pumped out.  Another lad had his front teeth knocked out by a softball bat.  I earnt the sobriquet of the mash potato kid as I loved the stuff (and still do). As for those ‘buoyancy’ aids...
