Mrs N. Smith 1942-47
Mrs N. Smith, Chemistry, was one of five ladies recruited in 1942 to ease the staff shortage caused by men being called up for war service. She graduated in 1917 with a B.Sc. and M.Sc, from Manchester Victoria University and taught for four years in Kendal and Keighley Grammar Schools before getting married.
In 1947 she went to Ealing Grammar School for Girls where she was Senior Science Teacher until she retired. She died in 1979.
Mrs. Smith had two sons at the school. Geoffrey Smith (1937-44) and Mike Smith (1941-48).
